SALTASH FERRY (FLOATING BRIDGE)

FLOATING BRIDGE NUMBER 3

Nothing is known about Saltash Floating Bridge Number 3 except that she was built in 1865/66 and was powered by the engine salvaged from Ferry number 2, which had sunk overnight earlier in 1865.  It had cost £1,300 to fit the engine and number 3 served for 35 years.

She had a steel hull and wooden superstructure.
