REORGANISATION, 1906 As from Monday January 1st 1906 the administrative duties of the Royal William Victualling Yard and Naval Ordnance Depot at East Stonehouse along with the fleet coaling service and the Naval Store Department at Devonport became the responsibility of the Admiral-Superintendent of Devonport Dockyard. As a consequence the Dockyard General Orders became the Admiral-Superintendent's Orders. Mr G Crocker CB, the civil technical assistant to the Admiral-Superintendent became the Manager, Constructive Department, to replace Mr J Black, who had been transferred to Chatham Dockyard. Mr R H Andrews, the Chief Engineer of Devonport Dockyard, became the first Manager, Engineering Department at Devonport. |
