RAILWAYS IN OLD DEVONPORT  |  PLYMOUTH, DEVONPORT AND SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY COMPANY
MAIN LINE, LYDFORD STATION TO FRIARY STATION

FORD TUNNEL

Ford Tunnel, on the southern end of Ford Viaduct, between Ford Station and Devonport King's Road Station, ran from Littleton Place to Exmouth Road beneath Victoria Place.  At Exmouth Road the track emerged just long enough to allow for Albert Road Halt before diving into Devonport Park Tunnel.

In official railway documentation, Ford Tunnel was quoted as being 373 yards long.

Both Ford Tunnel and Devonport Park Tunnel still exist but are sealed off.
